The Future of LBS: Convenient, Valuable, Secure
January 26, 2011
Last week, I was invited to speak at the Social Media Breakfast New Hampshire. The topic? Location-based services. You can watch the video below, but the short of the talk is that by becoming more convenient, valuable and secure, location-based services can move from being an unnatural behavior of the tech-savvy early adopters to a natural behavior of mainstream audiences.

Haha, “baristas flirt a lot.” I like the witty humor, Eric. Cool that you got to speak out of state though. You’re big-time. I think the idea of making LBS more convenient, valuable and secure. Of the three I think security is the least important. Sure you don’t want people hacking and what not, but I’m really not concerned about that. I think for mainstream adoption, increasing the value of LBS is the most important. I talk to so many friends who are not early tech adopters, and they say “But what do I get out of it (it being LBS)?” and I hear less complaints about how it seems inconvenient. Can’t wait to see where this market continues to move.
